From dragons and tigers to tortoise and bats, auspicious animals have been an important part of Asian culture for thousand years.
They can be found everywhere in temples, profane households, public spaces...
At GOLDEN TORTOISE we will display a collection of these highly revered beasts from all over the continent, from Tibet to Japan, and from all age, from the Neolithic era to the 19th century.

The exhibits include furniture, fabrics, woodcarvings, bronze and stone objects.

The Exhibition called "A A A " for Asian Auspicious Animals
will be held at GOLDEN TORTOISE Gallery located at 100 Sukhumvit Soi 49, Bangkok 10110, Thailand from Friday September 4th to Sunday September 20th.

The CHI LIN

The qilin (Chinese: 麒麟; pinyin: qílín) is a mythical hooved chimerical creature. It is a good omen thought to occasion prosperity or serenity. It is often depicted with what looks like fire all over its body.



Qilin (麒麟) is often translated into English as "unicorn"

Qilin are thought to be a symbol of luck, good omens, protection, prosperity, success, and longevity by the Chinese.


Qilin are also a symbol of fertility, and often depicted in decorations as bringing a baby to a family.
